HOW DO I CHOOSE AN ARTIST/ACT AND SONG?

Heads of Delegation can select their countries Artist/Act and Song one of two ways:

  • Internal Selection.
  • Hosting an online National Final in which all other Heads of Delegations can vote in.

WHICH ARTISTS/ACTS CAN BE SELECTED?

Any Artist/Act is eligible to represent a country that fits ONE of the following criteria:

  • They were born in that country.
  • They are a legal citizen of that country.

Acts can be a Soloist or a Group of up to 8 members maximum.

WHAT SONGS CAN BE SELECTED?

Any song by the selected Artist/Act is eligible to represent a country that fits ALL of the following criteria:

  • Was released within one year of the contests Launch date (date to be confirmed).
  • Is an original song (but can be a remix).
  • Is between 2 – 4 minutes in length.
  • Has a Music Video on YouTube which is copyright free (the Executive Producer will check this when submitted for approval).
  • Has not competed in the Eurovision Song Contest.
  • Has not previously competed in the Symphonica Song Contest.

SUBMITTING & ANNOUNCING THE SONGS:

Once a song has been chosen, it must be sent privately to the Executive Producer for Approval.

Once approved, a date will be agreed with the Executive Producer to reveal your entry to the other Heads of Delegation.

Heads of Delegation will have approximately 8 weeks to select their song. During this period, all entries will be revealed.

HOW DOES THE VOTING WORK?

ALL delegations will have one week to vote by ranking all competing songs from first to last (excluding their allocated country). These rankings will be used to determine where each delegates Semi Final and Grand Final points will be allocated (1 – 8, 10 & 12). Heads of Delegation will vote individually and must not discuss with any other delegate, including the delegate acting as Head of Delegation for the same country.

  • 50% of the vote will be made up by the 40 Heads of Delegation acting as the Jury.
  • 50% of the vote will be made up by the 40 Heads of Delegation acting as the Public.

The Jury and Public points awarded in the Semi Finals will not be revealed until after the Grand Final; during each Semi Final, the qualifying countries will simply be revealed in a totally random order.

The Jury and Public points awarded in the Grand Final will be revealed separately;

  • The Jury points awarded by each country will be revealed one Jury at a time; points 1 – 7 will be shown on the screen, followed by the 8, 10 and 12 points presented individually.
  • Once all Jury points have been awarded, the total number of Public points awarded to each country will be presented one country at a time, starting with the country who sits bottom of the scoreboard after all Jury points have been awarded, and finishing with the country who sits top of the scoreboard after all Jury points have been awarded.
